Existing ground conditions can be very different and difficult to work with, especially if they are below grade. Tanking and waterproofing to garages, basements and below ground areas must be done properly the first time as it can be an extremely costly exercise to remedy these problems later on. This house had a below grade double garage which was waterproofed prior to backfilling and pouring the slab. This ensures that water is kept well away from the concrete and the garage floor.
